Senator Andy Kim announced that the application process for Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) is open for FY26. The application deadline is March 17 at 11:59 p.m.
Please refer to the FY2025 guidance to determine project proposal eligibility. This guidance is based on the previous Fiscal Year, and FY2026 will be posted as soon as it is received from the Appropriations Committee. Please HYPERLINK "https://www.kim.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Frequently-Asked-Questions_Kim_CDS.pdf" review the FAQs and monitor the website for updates.
CDS directs specified amounts of money to state and local governments or to eligible non-profit entities for specific projects at specific locations.
There are no guarantees that CDS requests will be funded. Additionally, the process in which appropriations bills are considered, finalized, and signed into law can take many months. Even if a project is requested by Senator Booker and selected by the Senate Appropriations Committee, all CDS funding is contingent upon enactment of the federal government’s FY26 appropriations bills.
As other Members of Congress announce their application process, we will share that information.
