Among the issues discussed were an update from the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Subgroup on the SHBP approval process for local governments to utilize these arrangements as part of collective bargaining agreements. The Division noted there have been eight such applications before them for approval and they all vary significantly. There was a suggestion to create a standard process for local governments to follow.
The First Responders Pilot Program Update noted that the enrollment for this program is less than 50 participants and there should be consideration given to increasing participation.
Of note during the Division Update: More than 11,000 employees have switched their insurance carrier during the special open enrollment period.
At this meeting, there was no specific discussion of potential rates for Plan Year 2025, which are usually adopted during a special meeting in July.
