CDC Issues Stop Work Orders Due to Grant Cancellation

Emergency Management & Public Health Posted on April 02, 2025

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) canceled $11 billion in grant agreements across the country, leading to a series of stop-work orders. According to the New Jersey Association of County and City Health Officials, a detailed list has not yet been released.

Attorney General Matthew Platkin has joined a group of 23 State Attorneys General suing the Trump Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services for unlawfully cutting funds.

Due to this, the New Jersey Department of Health issued a stop-work order. We encourage you to review how this impacts your municipality with your public health professionals.
