NJ DEP Publishes “REAL” Rules for Comment

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), has proposed formal rulemaking that the DEP states will make New Jersey the first state to modernize land resource protection regulations that address climate change's ongoing and future impacts.

ICYMI: SHBC Postponed Rate Renewal Meeting 

As we noted briefly in last week’s Round-Up, the SHBC postponed the Plan Year 2025 Rate Renewal Meeting that was scheduled for July 29, to act on a proposed 17.2% rate increase for local government in the SHBP. No future date has been announced.

DCA Roadshow

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is embarking on a roadshow series to enhance the visibility of the Department's services and programs, ensuring that residents across the state, through its community partners, are well-informed about the resources available to them. By traveling to various cities and towns, the roadshow brings the Department's offerings directly to the communities it serves, making it easier for them to engage with and benefit from these services.

The roadshow will feature a presentation that provides an overview of DCA’s divisions, programs and services, and Commissioner Suárez’s priorities. Also, at each stop, there will be content specialists who will highlight a hot topic. The program will close with a Q&A period addressed by Commissioner Suárez and department representatives.

These events provide a platform for you to ask questions, share concerns, and receive personalized assistance.

The final roadshow will be held on August 27, 2024, at Farleigh Dickinson University—Florham Campus (Morris) in Madison, NJ. Additional information is available on the invitation. The special focus for this event will be Local Government and Shared Services.
