OPRA Modernization Legislation Passes Both Chambers  

This past Monday, both the Senate and the Assembly passed S-2930, with bipartisan support, which modernizes the Open Public Records Act. It now awaits action from the Governor.

Prevailing Wage Legislation on PILOTs Passes Committee  

Last week, the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee amended S-2015 to provide for a prevailing wage in PILOT agreements.

Workers Comp Contingency Fee Increase Passes Assembly Committee

The Assembly Labor Committee favorably reported A-3986, which increases the attorney contingency fee cap in workers’ compensation matters from 20% to 25%.

DEP Announces Coastal Flood Regulation Rules 

Last Friday, Governor Murphy and DEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourette announced their intent to upgrade DEP’s coastal flooding regulations and shared a courtesy copy of the draft rule proposal.

ABC Issues Order Granting Blanket Relief for Inactive Licensees  

On May 10, the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control issued an Administrative Order granting blanket relief for inactive municipally issued Class C retail licenses.

The NJLM Mini-Conference is open for registration! 

The NJLM Mini-Conference is a one-day conference held at the Conference Center at Mercer in West Windsor on June 12 from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Attendees can earn up to 8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in one day for their professional licenses. Registration costs range from $125 for members and $135 for nonmembers. More information on this conference, including registration, is available on the Mini-Conference website.
