Governor Delivers Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Address

On Tuesday, February 27, Governor Murphy delivered his seventh budget address, proposing a $55.9 billion budget for FY2025.

Governor Proposes Corporate Transit Fee

As part of the FY2025 Budget, Governor Murphy proposes a Corporate Transit Fee for corporations with yearly incomes of over $10 million.

February PDC Meeting Includes Special Open Enrollment Period

At the February State Health Benefits Program Plan Design Committee (PDC) Meeting, the committee outlined a Special Open Enrollment Period beginning on April 1, 2024, because Aetna has been added as an insurer.

Supreme Court Issues Order Allowing Plea Bargaining in DUI Cases

The NJ Supreme Court has issued an Order withdrawing Guideline 4. This action clears the way and allows plea bargaining in certain DUI cases to move forward, as permitted under a recently adopted law.

DEP Publishes Draft Statewide Water Supply Plan

Earlier this week the NJ Department of Environmental Protection released the Draft 2024 New Jersey Statewide Water Supply Plan for public comment. The Plan assesses the State’s water supply and identifies any risks and solutions to possible shortages.

Another Short-Term Resolution Passed to Keep Government Funded

On Thursday, the House and Senate passed a short-term Continuing Resolution to avert a government shutdown. President Biden signed the bill.
