On Monday, the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee favorably reported Senate Committee Substitute for S-4509, which creates a regulatory scheme in line with federal law on sale of certain hemp-derived cannabinoid products. It also repeals the law concerning intoxicating hemp.
The League, along with the New Jersey Conference of Mayors and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, support this legislation, because it creates a licensure process and provides a regulatory and enforcement framework around hemp products, which are difficult to regulate.
