P.L. 2024, c. 60 permits a school district without a board of school estimate to submit a separate proposal for additional funds for the subsequent budget year to voters at a special election. The proposal must specifically identify the program purposes that the proposed funds will be used. The proposal may only be submitted once during a school year. As a reminder, special school elections are held in January, March, September, and December.
The new law took effect immediately.
