As a reminder, there are seven business days remaining to submit your applications for Municipal Aid, Transit Village, Bikeways, and Safe Streets to Transit through SAGE. All applications are due by July 1. Grant awards are expected to be announced in November.
This year, pavement preservation has been added to the FY2025 program. Pavement preservation is to renew road surfaces and correct irregularities while preserving and protecting the underlying pavement structure.
There is $140 million available with an additional $10 million in Urban Aid under the Municipal Aid grant program. Municipalities are encouraged to consider projects that support walking and bike safety.
The Transit Village grant is open to the 35 municipalities designated as Transit Villages. There is $1 million available to fund traditional and non-traditional transportation projects that enhance walking, biking, and/or transit ridership within a half-mile of transit facilities.
There is $1 million in the Bikeways program to fund bicycle projects that create new Bike Path mileage. Both counties and municipalities are eligible to apply for this funding.
A total of $1 million is available in the Safe Streets to Transit program, which encourages counties and municipalities to construct safe and accessible pedestrian linkage to transit facilities.
