We learned early Friday (March 15) evening that A-4 & S-50, bills to address affordable housing, have unexpectedly been added to the voting list for this Monday, March 18. This follows the Senate committee amendments adopted by the Senate Budget & Appropriations Committee on March 11.
The League previously provided an overview of the most recent amendments and the legislation as a whole for your consideration of the impacts on your municipality. We further suggest bringing, in particular, new language regarding data used for the methodology to the attention of your planners.
The amended bill must first pass the Senate, and then return to the Assembly for concurrence. Both houses have voting sessions on Monday, so we would suggest reaching out to all your Legislators. We will provide additional information as warranted over the weekend.
