The Americans with Disabilities Act: What Public Employers Need to Know

The goal of this seminar is to help attendees understand their obligation as employers pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended). More specifically, it will provide information about entitlements afforded to qualified individuals with a disability in the hiring and employment process; the obligation to provide reasonable accommodations and engage in the interactive process; and interaction of the ADA with other state and federal law. This seminar will also address the intersection between protection under the ADA and routine personnel actions, as well as the implications for medical marijuana and drug-free work place policies.
